Walter O’Dowd
 

Walter O’Dowd is a consultant who brings years of actual Lean Enterprise implementation experience and more than 20 years of management experience to his clients. Following a Train-Do-Act process, team members get the basics that prepare them for actual application in their daily work. Walter has a common sense approach and a roll-up-your sleeves attitude that clients appreciate when looking for system improvements across department lines to gain efficiencies in operations, sales, the supply chain, and customer relationships.

His specialties include strategic planning, training and implementation of Lean Enterprise (Toyota Production System) concepts and tools. He solves problems with creativity and buy in at all levels. Currently averaging 20 Kaizen events on sites per year mixed with Lean certification training at local community colleges, participants get real-life insights into what works and what doesn’t!

His consulting experiences range across many industries throughout the United States and services multi-nationals down to family-owned businesses. Walter has been a featured presenter at national conventions of the AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence), ASQ (American Society for Quality) and SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers).

Prior to choosing the life of a consultant, Walter was Vice President of Engineering with US Filter (BSME 1983 Louisiana State University), a multi-national equipment supplier.
